DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Domestic violence is a huge issue to me having been on the recieving end and now watching my daughter endure the same problem.
I believe that one of the biggest reasons that this is still such a huge issue to society is the lack of action from police and the CPS. They may well have pretty posters up in the police station, they may well have a whole domestic violence unit set up but they’re incompetence when it comes to investigation, leading to lack of evidence for the CPS coupled with the CPS’s unwilingness to deal with anything that’s not an open and shut case, leaves us with the statistics of two women a week dying in the UK at the hands of a partner or former partner. This figure has not changed in the last ten years which tells me that for all the so called law changes and police taking a different stance on domestic violence, they quite obviously still don’t have it right!
Please visit my blog: www.domestic-violence.org.uk. It’s still in the formation stages at the moment, but please bear with me and keep re-visiting the site. Tell everyone you know. We need to draw attention to this issue urgently before we have more sad statistics. If you want to make a difference, please visit the register page where I am gauging interest in getting a register of known domestic violence perpetrators set up.
Thank you for your time.
