Champagne is not a tipple I’ve ever been keen on. The first few times I tried it I couldn’t understand what everybody raved about. It just tasted like a bitter, fizzy wine to me!

That said, maybe it’s just an acquired taste. There have been several formal occassions that I’ve attended over the last few years where I have had to take part in the customary toast with champagne. Recently, I have managed a whole glass without pulling a face!

Well, it’s that time of year again and I guess I’m not the only one who has been taken by surprise!

Ok, I’ve known for months it was on it’s way and of course, I had all the plans to get way ahead with preperations and yet here we are, 2nd December, and not one present bought, although there are a few new decs ready to go up – once the trees down from the loft!

I get so excited when I see other trees and lights starting to go up in windows – I never want to be the first – but I think there are enough now to make it respectable that I put mine up!
