With the nights getting longer, I have to say I have been giving more thought to what to buy people for Christmas and, as a first, dog clothes are on the list this year!
There are the obvious presents such as anything electronic for my boys and anything that resembles designer clothes for my daughter but the grandparents are a little different. My grandmother, for instance, had pretty much everything she requires for a nice comfortable life. She turns her nose up at bathtime smellies and chocolates sit untouched for months. Her one main pleasure in life is her dog so I’m beginning to think along those lines.

I see in today’s news, a report of a man bungee jumping in Thailand where the rope slips off his feet and he plunges into the water below.
Fortunately the man lived, albeit with some serious internal injuries and what is believed to have saved him is the fact that his chest took the full impact of the 80mph fall. Had he landed on his head he would be dead for sure.
Now, this is a rare occurence but bungee jumping accidents do happen and people do die. So why, in Gods name, would you do it?

Now we can all have a laugh at some of the crazy inventions that have been produced, such as the bra that turns into a gas mask, but when it comes to product design there are certain items that really have changed the world and the way we live in it.
The Abacus, almost seen as a toy these days but dating back thousands of years, those who are adept with an abacus can still work out sums speedier on this than a calculator.

It takes a thrity second browse through the paper to see just how completely mad the world has gone!
We have the man who is sick of yobs terrorising his home that has decided to put up a mildly electric fence around his property. Now this, to me, sounds like a good idea. It’s not like he hasn’t tried the proper channels like calling the police but they either don’t respond or come too late to do anything about it. However, they’re not so shy that they can’t tell him that should someone hurt themselves on the fence whilst trying to break in, the homeowner can be sued!
