There has to be an answer to it!
This little runt of the litter that was born 7 weeks premature and was sick until he was five years old is now 14, much taller than me and as broad as your average man! How did that happen?
I’m talking about my youngest son. The one who began painfully shy but is now capable of starting a conversation with anybody, is polite and helpful and so…. big!

Ok, I know you’re all getting bored with this but I don’t care! It’s my blog and the most pressing issue in my life right now is my wedding in 17 days time.
We’ve spoken to a couple of people over the weekend who are also planning imminent weddings and it seems that for many, stress levels are high.
Now I have to confess that we are feeling the pressure too. There is so much to be done at the last minute but fortunatley my fiancee and I are good at pulling together at stressful times and we’re getting there!

I’m marrying him in 3 weeks - you’d think we’d have learnt by now!!
A conversation began last night about the difficulties of puberty and the issues that girls face as opposed to boys. Now, from my point of view - and I have seen my daughter and my sons go through this - for boys it is a gradual deepening of the voice and hilarity at every new hair found. For girls, we go from being totally unaware of our bodies straight into the fact that everybody knows there’s stuff going on downstairs every month, every male in a forty mile radius can blame the problems of the world on our hormones and every inch grown involves new interest from the opposite sex. Boys, please understand, this is mortifying for young girls!

In the news today we see the woman previously reported to be carrying 12 babies is a fraud - now there’s a shocker!
Great investigation by the Daily Mail - not! Yesterday they said this woman was reported to be carrying 12 babies after IVF treatment. Well, we knnow there are some dodgy doctors around the world - the sort that will impregnate old women - but I find it hard to believe there are any that would placw 12 foetuses in one womb unless they quickly wanted to kill mother and babies!

Wow, what a crazy few days!!
Despite planning a wedding for months now, it seems that almost everything has to be done at the last minute. We now have 23 days left til the big day and although I have a reasonably ordered list, I still feel the beginnings of ……. something. Can’t yet decide if it’s panic about getting everything done in time, anxiety about the big day going smoothly or just pure excitement for marrying the love of my life!

Well, I don’t know about you but there’s nothing quite like the smell of childhood than a traditional wooden toy. The natural scent of the wood, the smoothness of its sanded surfaces, the vibrancy of the colours – all things that assault the senses and embed themselves in your memory for the future.
Simply picking up a wooden toy in the shop can transport you back many years to your childhood. Pull along toys, wooden jigsaw puzzles, building blocks and those great little cars with painted characters on them – I loved them all but where have they all gone?

In today’s news I see that traffic claming measures outside a Leicester primary school include life like bollards created at a cost of £350 each and made to look like real children. Well, real if you have a stiff, shiney child with mad, staring eyes!
These 3 foot figures are stood by the edge of the pavement in a bid to fool drivers into thinking they are real children about to step into the road and hopefully slow the cars down. OOOOOOkkkkkkkkkkk! Well, if it works and saves the life of just one child then it will be worth it but if irresponsible, selfish drivers don’t actually slow down for real children why would they do it for these fake ones? And will they become complacent over time, assuming they are bollards when one day they are real children?

I’d like to say a big fat thank you to G E!!
Last year my dad bought me a G E A735 digital camera. I had been through a particularly difficult couple of years and money for the whole family was very tight. But when he was able, my dad bought me a camera because he knows I’ve always been interested in photography and if I cuold have captured the look of pleasure on his face when he gave it to me it would be worth millions!

Far be it from me to write a controversial post but I work in an office dominated by men and they seem quicker than women to offer an opinion about the trials of their relationships with the opposite sex (particularly exes) so this is my outlet to redress the balance.
Now don’t get me wrong - I’m not from the class that think all men are b********. As I said, many of my colleagues are male and they’re all great. I have a man that I love to pieces and would do anything for, who always behaves like a perfect gentleman and I have two sons, two step sons and a grandson so there are a lot of men in my life, all of great character!

Well, I’ve just got back from the best holiday I have ever had which just goes to prove that you don’t need to be a long way from home!
My fiancee and I took our collective family of five children between the ages of 13 and 23, along with our 2yr old grandson and we went 2 hours up the road to spend the week in a beautiful old coach house set in the middle of woodland. The setting was perfect, the weather was perfect, the house was HUGE and gorgeous, the pool was warm, the snooker table was full size and just to make you completely sick - all the children were perfectly behaved and happy!
