Minimalist Living In Chilly Britain

There are plenty of reasons why people in Britain aspire to minimalist living – but what does underfloor heating have to do with any of it?

Well, much of the need for minimalism is to do with our incessantly busy schedules! We run from pillar to post all day long – the last thing we want to do is be tripping over the parapheranlia of everyday life along the way! But true minamilistic living goes beyond that. It goes beyond shoving everything out of sight. It is about serence, tranquil living spaces where everything has a rightful place and can be found and utilised without much ado.

And this is exactly why I introduce underfloor heating to those who have a need for peace and order. Radiators are normally efficient at their job – rarely are they attractive and even if you are lucky enough to afford one of those new-fangled models – they still collect dust. An open fire is every minamalists idea of a nightmare so there’s not even any point in going there! Gas fires are normally made to resemble open fires and can be just as fussy in appearance and attractiveness to dust. that said, Britain is a very chilly place to spend the winter with no heating so the I suggest the solution of underfloor heating.

Easily controlled by a main wall maounted thermostat, this heating is laid under the floor, obviously. It is out of sight but the heat eradiates up through the floor keeping our feet toasty and our homes warm while giving us one less surface to dust – got to be a bonus in my book!
