Black Box Technology For Cheaper Car Insurance

September 3, 2010cathyhp No Comments »

As a parent of teenagers, I understand what a worry it is when your children get themselves on the road. They are so excited and have this sudden freedom – all the while they still have that feeling of invincibilitythat only comes in that age group so this is often a worrying time for parents.

With our children we had a ‘black box’ installed in our boys cars for our own peace of mind. It has a tracking device in case of theft and also sends automatic alerts should the vehicle be involved in an accident. So, I can’t be there to wrap them in cotton wool but at least I can keep as close an eye as possible on them. Add to this the benefit of cheaper car insurance after the box was fitted and we’re on to a winner.

My friend owns a private investigation company and after finding things a little slow due to the recession, decided he needed an online presence to pick business up. He came to me for help as I work in IT and stated that he wanted the site to look really professional and he wanted to be able to access it and update it on a regular basis but that he had a tight budget to stick to.

Prescription Sunglasses Not Just For Summer

August 17, 2010cathyhp No Comments »

My father works as a traffic light engineer and as such works outside all day. He is called to set up traffic lights at road works for councils and telephone companies, electrical and gas companies. It’s very important that lights are set up right at the correct distances for safe traffic flow otherwise it could be dangerous to people travelling along that road as well as the workman. Like many people in his late fifties his eyesight is suffering and he needs to wear corrective lenses but was struggling when out in the sun. Sometimes this problem is worse n the winter than the summer as the light is much clearer and the sun is much lower in teh sky. He wanted to wear his glasses to see and his sunglasses so I suggested he buy prescription sunglasses.

Search Engine Optimisation Needs It’s Finger On The Pulse Of Google

August 11, 2010cathyhp No Comments »

Search engine optimisation is an ever changing business. There is no set pattern, no set rules, no possible way of making promises that your site will be number one at any given time. Any search engine company that tells you otherwise is making empty promises and should be avoided.

According to top SEO consultants, High Position, the best strategy is to have a team dedicated to research and development – these are the people with their fingers on the pulse of SEO. It’s only through this practice that any changes Google decides to implement in it’s favouring of websites will quickly be picked up and acted upon for the good of their clients. These changes can occur once in while or on a weekly or daily basis – what works today may not work tomorrow so be aware of this when searching out the SEO company of your choice.

Fed Up with Garage Rip-Offs?

July 9, 2010cathyhp Comments Off

For us women, taking a car to a garage is fraught with difficulties and for that reason I would like to recomment eTyres tyres for all my fellow girlies out there.

I actually have insider information from someone that used to work for a famous UK tyre fitting company that they were actually given tips on how to ‘convince’ customers that there was more wrong with their cars than they realised. Of course, you can only do this with people that know nothing about cars and they ususally means women. Jargon about laws on tyres, only having the most expensive tyres available, squirting oil under a car then showing the customer they have a ‘leak’ are all tactics used to extort money from customers. It’s also mighty uncomfortable for women to have to wait around at a tyre depot waiting for a change of tyres.

Kids Off To Uni? Get Them Student Health Insurance!

July 9, 2010cathyhp Comments Off

As much as we know young children like to malinger their way out of lessons with the slightest health issue, it can be a different story once they’re a bit older. If your children are off to college or university, you will have many things to worry about. Are they going to get drunk every night and put themselves at risk? Will they get heartbroken by new loves? Will they come home with babies instead of qualifications (or is it just me that worries about that)? Will they get the grades they need to set them up for life? Will they eat properly? Will they take care of themselves? We no longer have that guiding hand over them and have to trust that we have instilled enough common sense into them to do what they’re meant to do but there is one way we can have a little peace of mind – take out some student health insurance for them.

The Case Of Health Insurance Being Invaluable

July 9, 2010cathyhp Comments Off

When my husband became aware that all was not right with his health, he did what a man always does – he put his head in the sand. It took a while of nagging to make him visit the doctor. The doctor himself was unperturbed and put the ailments down to something vague but said he could reassure my husband with a thorough check involving scans etc. There was no urgency which can mean that, with the NHS as under pressure as they are, that the wait for these types of things can be long and stressful so my husband decided to use his health insurance to go private and get the checks out of the way. After all, hadn’t he paid his premiums for many years for exactly this sort of moment?

Car Hire for An Easier Holiday

July 7, 2010cathyhp Comments Off

Well, we’re over half way through the year and thus far I have not booked a holiday. Life has taken over and work and kids and house have meant that I simply have not got round to booking one. On top of that, there is the expense of it all and the thought of travelling in a hot, sticky atmosphere for hours on a plane and through airports that is putting me off. With this in mind, I came up with a solution. Holiday in the UK and take advantage of car hire for a reliable and comfortable journey.

Using A Virtual Office In Saving A Company

July 5, 2010cathyhp No Comments »

By brother in law owns his own company specialising in woodwork and joinery. It’s served him well over the last ten years as it seems to be a dying trade, what with computers taking over everybody’s lives and the main education programme in schools being fixated on computers and internet related work. A steady stream of work in joinery such as kitchen cabinet building has kept his wife in shoes and his children in bikes as well as pay a small number of employees mortgages.
